As part of this term's work in Literacy we are looking at play-scripts. We recently looked at William Shakespeare's play 'Romeo and Juliet' and compared it to two modern versions of the same story ('Romeow and Drooliet' a book by Nina Laden and the film 'Gnomeo and Juliet'.)

This week, we have looked at 'Macbeth', another play by Shakespeare. This is often known as 'The Scottish Play' as it is supposedly unlucky to say the name 'Macbeth' if one is acting in it on stage.

In each class, the children watched a three minute animation of 'Macbeth'. The class was then divided into six groups and each group was given one scene from the play to perform. The groups had approximately ten minutes to rehearse their scene and then they performed in the classroom.

Here is Class 4D performing 'Macbeth'.
