Poems, poems, poems! Look what you've been writing ... 19th November 2018 (ready for upload)

Hello!

Well done to all of you who wrote poems for National Poetry Day.

Many of you followed the theme of the Day, which was 'Change'. Others, inspired by the day, created poems based on other themes.

I have read individual poems, group poems and year 3 created a class poem!

Many of the poems have been displayed around the school and there is a display outside the tutors' classroom.

Many members of staff also contributed to National Poetry Day by writing their own poetry. See them uploaded in a separate blog page.

A big thank you to the children of Year 4, who got the ball rolling by writing the first 'For want Of' poems.

Our ‘For Want Of’ Poem
By Iqro 4S, Johnny 4D and Zahra 4D

For want of the cow, the milk was lost
For want of the milk, the butter was lost
For want of the butter, the cake was lost
For want of the cake, the party was lost
For want of the party, the people were lost
For want of the people, the world was lost.

Our ‘For Want Of’ Poem
By Daniel 4S and Laith 4S

For want of the cornflakes, the milk was lost
For want of the milk, the carton was lost
For want of the carton, the factory was lost
For want of the factory, the money was lost
And all for want of the cornflakes!

Keep reading the Blog for poems from Year 5 and 6, and of course, staff poems.

The lucky winners will be announced soon!
