A huge congratulations to Muhammad in class 6N who has recently been awarded with his Black Belt 1st Dan in Karate! Muhammad attends the Tiger Karate Club which meets at the All Hallows Church Hall on Saturday mornings. Muhammad has been a member of the club for six years.
In order to gain the Black Belt 1st Dan he had to carry out 100 press ups, 50 hills climbs, 50 `supermans', 30 sit ups, 5 spars, run 10k and demonstrate a whole range of techniques to his Sensei.
Muhammad really enjoys this sport. He likes that it helps to keep him safe as a form of self-defence. He likes the fact that he would be able to help people, if necessary. He also pointed out that this level of fitness and skills would be useful if he joined the police force or army.
Muhammad aims to achieve his Black Belt 10th Dan. What an aspiration! He explained that to achieve the 10th Dan it could take him 20 years.
Keep us posted on your achievements, Muhammad! Well done! You should feel so proud of yourself.
Thank you to Muhammad's dad for sending the phtographs in to school of Muhammad's karate grading.
