Pancakes - February 2017

Pancakes - February 2017

On Friday 24 February, children in KS1 and KS2 enjoyed our annual 'Pancake Day' assembly. During the assembly, pupils learnt about the origins of the day as well as hearing of an annual 'Pancake race' which happens annually in Olney.

During the KS1 assembly, Henry (Year 1) and Tamer (Year 2) took on Mr Harding and Mr Joahill in a pancake flip competition where competitors had one minute to flip the pancake as many times as possible. Mr Harding has clearly had a lot of practise and flipped the pancake 28 times!

During the KS2 assembly, Filip (Year 3) and Heba (Year 4) faced Miss Reeves and Miss McCabe, with Filip winning the competition with 23 flips. Olivia (Year 5) and Sara (Year 6) took on Mr Bull and Miss Pedler with Miss Pedler winning with a whopping 29 flips!

All of the children and staff enjoyed the event, even the pupil who ended up with Mr Bull's pancake in their lap!
