Wild About Animals

Wild About Animals

New to our Key Stage Two library, two books by Dieter Braun:

  • Wild Animals of the North                                                                                       and
  • Wild Animals of the South

Click on the images above to enlarge them.

Focusing on the animals found both in The Northern and Southern Hemispheres, the illustrations by Dieter Braun, with their geometric, almost cubist style, show off each animal in their natural habitats beautifully.

Three of the many animals found in The Northern Hemisphere (which includes all of North America, the northern reaches of South America, about two-thirds of Africa, most of Asia and all of Europe) are:

Bald Eagles

Polar Bears

Interesting fact:

Did you know that Orcas live together in groups and each family communicates in its own dialect?

Three animals found in The Southern Hemisphere (which includes most of South America, one-third of Africa, all of Antarctica, a some southern islands in Asia (parts of Indonesia) and all of Australia and four oceans) are:

Mountain Gorillas

Interesting fact:

Did you know that the leaves of the eucalyptus tree, that the Koala bear finds delicious, are poisonous to humans?

These books two books are a real joy to look through; the illustrations are incredible! I hope you enjoy them as well!
